GJ - Day 5 - Opinion

I really enjoy this game. It is very realistic, with the priorities with the different things. I also like how you can put structures above the others, like the resource plant and the bio dome. I also figured out that the telescope actually didn't destroy meteors, but it helped guide the laser. It took me a while to figure this out, and a meteor ALMOST destroyed the connection to my power collector and my wind turbine. One of the things that I didn't like about the game is the fact that everyone would just be idle while there were things to do. For example, I had a LOT of starch and no one was putting it into the machine and the worker was just standing around when it had things to do. I also didn't like how the spares went so fast to repair things. I really wish that we came with more spares. At least the medic did his job really well.

The engineer working the telescope that  couldn't use, and I didn't have the type of supplies that the laser needed.

The monster wind turbine and power collector that always have power and is very reliable (also needs tons of  spares)

Building my factory so I can make weapons and spares so my base can survive.

The robotics facility, so my engineer doesn't go into a sandstorm to repair a bot that is stranded outside while carrying something.

GJ - Day 4 - Plan

My plan for today is to continue my base that I started yesterday and finish the telescope and the factory for the bots. Another idea is to finish the control centre so I can alert my colonists that thee's danger. I will also make weapons to defend myself. The main issue that I had before is that my construction bots were beyond repair and became resources. Also, a meteor almost landed right on my dorms, and luckily it didn't, so that is my main reason to build a telescope.

I had do rebuild the control centre because a meteor damaged it very badly

The telescope needs to be run by a engineer, or else it will just sit there.

A sandstorm is on, at least it has a lot of wind, and everyone stayed inside.

Worker is finally making bioplastic and metal, and ran out of spares so I put in a spares workshop.

GJ - Day 3 - Review

The first thing that you need to build is an oxygen generator. Then you need to build a solar panel and water generator and connect all three. The next thing you need to do is make a canteen, and put a table, water fountain, and a screen for entertainment. Dorms will also have to be built, and then add a bed so the colonists can sleep. After all that, before it is night, build a wind turbine and a power generator. Don't forget to build an airlock or your colonists will die.

I selected the location of my base and the name.

I landed on the planet.

My colonists got out and I got ready to build.

I went to the Help section to find things out.It is very useful and  recommend it very much.

I got my basic needs built (oxygen generator, airlock, solar panel, water collector) and waiting for other things to be built.

It's getting night time, so I made sure I had a power collector and a wind turbine for power overnight.

All the necessities are built, and I built a storage place so my materials wouldn't deteriorate outside, and also a mine to make more, and a resource centre so I can make even more resources.

All the wind ran out and left me without power, but luckily it soon turned day so the solar panel would work. And also I built a medic bay so the medic could make other colonists feel better.

Everything is built, and my colonists are inside taking care of themselves.

I got the sustainability milestone for having all the basic buildings for survival. A telescope is being built to destroy the meteors that land near the base. I also built a control centre to warn my colonists of solar flares and sandstorms.

I like this game very much. I find it very realistic, like colonists needing all the needs of a human of everyday life. One thing I didn't like is running out of wind at night, which I found worrying, because I thought I was going to lose my colonists. The bots were very useful and productive. One of the consequences of the game is that if you do not get things ready in time your colonists can die. Something I would do differently is make a bot factory right away so the bots can repair themselves instead of them turning into resources.

GJ - Day 2 - Preview

You set up a colony by making all the structures. All the structures all have different jobs, like the oxygen generator - it creates oxygen and can only work with a solar panel or wind energy. It also needs water to operate. Your colonists need oxygen or they will run out of oxygen in their tanks and die. They also need food and water, so you build a eating place and put a table, water fountain, and a screen for entertainment. They will soon become tired so you have to build a dorm and a bunk bed. Solar panels don't work at night, so you will have to get a wind turbine and a power collector. You also need grow food, so you build a Bio Dome and grow your own vegetables. A mine is also needed so you build that and then you can mine your own resources so you can never run out. From there, you can expand to make more dorms and other things for your colonists to grow and survive. Personally, I would start with the tutorial so you know what to do instead of jumping right in.

The difference between a walk-through and a tutorial is that during a walk-through, you just watch a person play the game. In a tutorial, you learn what to do in steps and it shows you what to do.

In my first try, I ran out of oxygen in my generator and all of my people died.I would build all the structures very quickly so no one runs out of oxygen.

GJ - DAY 1 - Reveal

Planetbase is a strategy game made by Madruga Works. You try to guide a group of settlers trying to make a colony in a remote planet. There are four different planets, a Desert Planet, Frozen Planet, Gas Giant Moon, and a Storm Planet. All the planets have different conditions and increase in difficulty.
In the game, you play the role of an architect/manager, and you tell your colonists where to put your buildings that they will need to live. You have to make sure that there is a supply of oxygen, food, and water to survive.

The things that you have to do in order to survive the planets are:

-Create solar and wind energy if it is available in order to power the base and buildings.
- Grow hydroponic vegetables (the process of growing growing plants in anything but soil, with added nutrients) and synthesize (add a bunch of things to make one whole) Vitromeat to feed to the people of your base.
-Mine and produce materials then, process them and manufacture goods, and make a production chain.
-Manage the the immigration very carefully to ensure you have people with the right skills.
(L-R)-Worker, Biologist,Engineer, Medic, Guard, Carrier Bot, Construction Bot, Driller Bot
-Survive disasters such as meteors, sandstorms, or solar flares and defend your base from unwelcome guests.
-Manufacture your own bots that help with more difficult tasks.
-Grow your colony from a few settlers to a magnificent base hundreds of colonists.

In the trailer, it shows you all the things that you can do, and shows you how to do some of them. You get to choose your planet and where on that planet, and you land and get started to survive. It also shows the the slow increase of growth of the colony, and how big it can get.
